In my rankings update last week, Riley Cooper made an appearance. In fact, he nearly cracked my top-100. This week, in an homage to Tecmo Bowl, I'm replacing his name with simply "WR EAGLES". It's not that I can't or don't want to say his name. It's more of a placeholder while the Eagles figure out what they want to do with him after the whole...well, you know. Right now, I don't know who to put in that slot. If my draft was today, I wouldn't even consider taking a Philly WR other than DeSean Jackson. And even then, he'd have to fall pretty low for me to think about it. Not only do I hate the Eagles, but I have a special place within that disdain set aside for DeSean. Right now it's looking like undrafted rookie Russell Shepard could win the #2 WR job, but it's still early. Demaris Johnson, though small, is very speedy and has a year of experience under his belt. He could get a shot at the job, as could veterans Avant and Benn. Heck, maybe even Riley Cooper gets back into the mix now that he's back from whatever it is he's been doing. In the meantime, I'll just leave it as WR EAGLES. As for the rest of the rankings, I've added notes where I've moved guys up or down. There are quite a few notes after the top-30, so I'm versioning up to 2.0!| 1. Adrian Peterson |
2. Doug Martin
3. Arian Foster: His health is starting to concern me. If I had a top 2 pick, I'd go Doug Martin over him.
4. Ray Rice
5. Jamaal Charles
6. Marshawn Lynch
7. LeSean McCoy: Charles & Lynch have little competition, and Chip Kelly could use Brown more than last year.
8. Calvin Johnson
9. CJ Spiller
10. Alfred Morris
11. Jimmy Graham
12. AJ Green
13. Steven Jackson
14. Trent Richardson
15. Stevan Ridley: The Patriots are going to run it a ton this year, and Ridley will get the bulk of it.
16. Matt Forte
17. Maurice Jones-Drew
18. Aaron Rodgers: Not especially concerned about Bulaga injury. Just not as high on QB this year.
19. Drew Brees
20. Brandon Marshall
21. Dez Bryant
22. Julio Jones
23. Chris Johnson
24. Reggie Bush
25. Peyton Manning: I say I'm not high on QB, then move Peyton up. But look at his easy schedule...
26. Frank Gore
27. Darren McFadden
28. DeMarco Murray
29. Demaryius Thomas
30. Larry Fitzgerald
31. Cam Newton
32. Roddy White
33. Andre Johnson
34: Randall Cobb: Jordy's knee procedure will have him out all preseason. Moving Cobb up.
35. Vincent Jackson
36. Tom Brady: Getting concerned about him not having many people to throw to.
37. Rob Gronkowski
38. Victor Cruz
39. Marques Colston
40. Lamar Miller
41. David Wilson
42. Chris Ivory
43. Dwayne Bowe: If Alex Smith can get him the ball, he could have another big season.
44. Wes Welker
45. Danny Amendola
46. LeVeon Bell: If signs point to him being every down RB, he might go higher than this.
47. Rashard Mendenhall
48. Montee Ball: Had to move this rookie RB up too, especially in a keeper league.
49. Darren Sproles
50. Hakeem Nicks
51. Torrey Smith: Should have career year, at least in number of targets.
52. Jordy Nelson: With the knee concern, moved him down a few WR spots.
53. Jason Witten: Gronk and Graham are keepers in my league. Need to keep Witten high on radar.
54. RGIII
55. Matt Ryan
56. Ryan Mathews: It sounds like there might be more of a RB-by-committee in SD this year.
57. Eddie Lacy
58. Reggie Wayne: At 34 years old, I had him a little high for a keeper league.
59. Steve Smith: Also with some age on him, but needs to be in this tier with Wayne.
60. Antonio Brown
61. Pierre Garcon
62. Cecil Shorts: Could be ready for a breakout season, even without a great QB throwing to him.
63. Vernon Davis: Concerned at how little Kap threw to him, but he shouldn't have much choice in 2013.
64. Colin Kaepernick
65. Russell Wilson
66. Andrew Luck
67. Matthew Stafford: In a keeper league, need to have him above Romo.
68. Tony Romo
69. Tony Gonzalez
70. Shane Vereen: Moved up Ridley. Also moving up Vereen. Should be plenty of touches for both RBs.
71. Andre Brown: David Wilson could emerge as a star, but Brown was great before getting injured last year.
72. Giovani Bernard: Sounds like he'll get 50% of touches in Cincy. Could be a great keeper too...
73. Ahmad Bradshaw
74. Eric Decker
75. James Jones
76. TY Hilton: Heyward Bey injury might get Hilton right into #2 WR position, which he deserves.
77. Mike Wallace: I don't trust Tannehill to get him the ball like Ben did, and speedsters don't tend to last.
78. Ronnie Hillman: The buzz is all about Montee, but Hillman is the starter and should have value.
79. Vick Ballard
80. Benjarvis Green-Ellis: Speaking of buzz, he keeps sliding down due to the Bernard noise.
81. Sidney Rice
82. Denario Alexander
83. DeSean Jackson
84. Tavon Austin
85. Eli Manning
86. Andy Dalton
87. DeAngelo Williams: I know what I've said about Panther RBs, but Stewart's ankles could have him out.
88. Daryl Richardson: Risky taking a Ram RB this high, but he should be starter Week 1 at least.
89. Miles Austin
90. Steve Johnson: Moved down even more. Lots of concerns with rookie QB and back health.
91. Greg Jennings: Continue to move him down too. Don't trust Ponder at all.
92. Anquan Boldin
93. Mike Williams
94. Denarius Moore: Down slightly. I'm a little snakebit from ranking an Oakland WR too high last year...
95. Lance Moore
96. Greg Olsen: Moved up slightly. I think he's worth a little more than Pettigrew and Finley.
97. Mark Ingram: I'm still holding on to the chance that he finally blows up this year.
98. Bryce Brown
99. Bernard Pierce
100. Ben Tate
101. Brandon Pettigrew
102. Jermichael Finley
103. Golden Tate: Many have him higher than Sidney Rice. May need to re-evaluate moving even higher.
104. Michael Floyd: I like his pedigree and potential a little more than Sanders.
105. Emmanuel Sanders
106. Aaron Dobson
107. DeAndre Hopkins
108. Kenny Britt
109. Danny Woodhead: Up slightly. Committee likely in San Diego.
110. Fred Jackson: Beefed up in offseason. Should be plenty of carries with a rookie QB.
111. Johnathan Franklin
112. Isaiah Pead
113. Chris Givens: Should be decent 1,2 punch with him and Austin out wide.
114. Josh Gordon: Just hope that he doesn't get another suspension. Not a lot of other WR options.
115. Owen Daniels
116. Antonio Gates
117. Kyle Rudolph
118. Vincent Brown: A newcomer to the rankings. Should be #2 WR in San Diego.
119. Ryan Broyles: Another newbie. Broyles could earn the #2 spot in Detroit, which could get a lot of targets.
120. WR EAGLES: Riley Cooper? Probably not, but I'll update with a real name in the next week or two.
121. Jonathan Stewart: Could start the season on the PUP list, but will just move down to here for now.
122. Shonn Greene: A capable runner, could get some goal line work in TEN at least.
123. Jacquizz Rodgers
124. Michael Bush
125. Montario Hardesty
126. Ryan Williams
127. Cordarelle Patterson: Moved down even more, adjusting for Ponder's ineptitude.
128. Kendall Wright
129. Brian Hartline
130. Fred Davis
131. Jared Cook
132. Roy Helu: Barring injury, I think he'll be the 3rd down RB for the Skins this year.
133. Justin Forsett
134. Toby Gerhart
135. Joseph Randle (or Philip Tanner)
136. Peyton Hillis (or Mike James)
137. Mikel Leshoure (or Joique Bell)
138. Rashad Jennings (or Marcel Reece)
139. Robert Turbin (or Christine Michael)
140. Isaac Redman (or Jonathan Dwyer)
141. Daniel Thomas (or Mike Gillislee)
142. Bilal Powell (or Mike Goodson)
143. Kendall Hunter (or LaMichael James)
144. Knile Davis (or Shaun Draughn): Jamaal Charles is every down back. Moving them down.
145. Seahawks DEFENSE
146. 49ers DEFENSE
147. Bears DEFENSE
148. Texans DEFENSE
149. Bengals DEFENSE
150. Broncos DEFENSE
151. Ravens DEFENSE
152. Patriots DEFENSE
153. Cardinals DEFENSE
154. Rams DEFENSE
155. Packers DEFENSE
156. Giants DEFENSE
157. Stephen Gostkowski
158. Dan Bailey
159. Matt Bryant
160. Matt Prater
161. Justin Tucker
162. Blair Walsh
163. Sebastian Janikowski
164. Phil Dawson
165. Greg Zuerlein: It sounds like fatigue may have gotten to him the 2nd half of 2012. He'll bounce back.
166. Randy Bullock
167. Kai Forbath
